Antilhue is a word in the language of the Mapuche, the indigenous people
to the central-southern part of Chile.
It is composed of the words "antu" (sun) and
"hue" (place, site) meaning a sunlit place, a sunny site.
This definitely applies for the area where the observatory is
located.
