Description This wonderful planetary nebula in a contrasted, star spangled field, was reported by Messier in 1779. It is a challenging imaging target from 34 southern latitude, never rising very high above the northern horizon.  The Dumbbell is one of the nearer planetary nebulae at about 1000 lightyears distance.
Exposure LRGB 25:15:15:15 min @ -18C   -  RGB frames were binned 2x2
