Description This very bright  (mag 8)  planetary nebula shows a very intricate structure and two short equatorial rays or 'ansae' with reddish, almost stellar condensations at the ends.  NGC 7009  has an apparent diameter of only 25 arcseconds.  The field of view is about 8 x 5 arcminutes.
