La nebulosa, tal y como corresponde a una explosión estelar, se expande con el paso del tiempo a una velocidad más o menos constante de 1.700 Km cada segundo.

Es interesante comparar fotografias tomadas en diferentes momentos para poder observar los cambios producidos por este movimiento de expansión.

Para la comparativa de arriba se han utilizado dos fotografías, la mia de 26 de octubre 2008 y una tomada por Adam Block ( gracias Adam por permitirme utilizar la imagen) registrada el 29 de septiembre de 2003. Son solo 5 años pero ya se distinguen perfectamente en la comparativa los cambios producidos por la expansión de los materiales que una vez formaron la estrella progenitora.

It is very interesting to compare images taken several years apart to be able to see how those changes have taken place.

I have used two photographs to make the animation, mine is dated on oct 26th 2008 and the other was taken by Adam Block and is dated on sept 29th 2003 ( thanks Adam to let me use this image). It is only a five years time span but the blink clearly shows the expanding movement of the filamentary material and gas that once formed a giant star.
