La Nova recurrente RS Oph está en explosión con magnitud visual 4.8 según los datos que nos llegan de Hiroaki Narumi, Ehime, Kita-gun, Japan, y Kiyotaka Kanai, Gunma, Isezaki-shi, Japan (IAU Circular 8671), La Nova recurrente también fue confirmada por Wolfgang Renz, Karlsruhe, Germany. Según observaciones en la base de datos internacional de la AAVSO, la última explosión ocurrió en enero de 1985, cuando la estrella alcanzó la magnitud visual 5,2 manteniéndose más brillante de 10,5 cerca de 80 días; RS Oph volvió a su estado de quietud aproximadamente 570 días después del máximo de la explosión. Las últimas explosiones anteriores se han registrado en 1898, 1933, 1958, 1967,1985 y una incierta en 1945.  |
