Nébuleuses planétaires pour un télescope de 500 mm



Ce fichier contient une sélection des nébuleuses planétaires du catalogue de Doug Snyder. Je l'ai mis sous la forme d'un tableau similaire à celui du "Sky Catalogue 2000.0", je trouve ça plus lisible... Il est destiné à un programme d'observation pour un télescope de 500 mm de diamètre. Au départ, je m'étais limité à -20° de déclinaison, ne projetant pas d'observer plus bas (la liste comptait alors 197 objets - elle en compte maintenant 427), mais j'ai finalement complété le fichier. Ainsi, il regroupe toutes les nébuleuses planétaires qui me semblent à la portée d'un tel diamètre, dans le ciel boréal comme dans le ciel austral. Une sélection basée uniquement sur la magnitude globale n'est pas très judicieuse en théorie, mais il en est de même d'une sélection basée seulement sur la magnitude de surface : en effet, je trouve la nébuleuse Abell 39 très difficile dans un 500 mm (V=12,9 et SV=15,2) tandis que Jones 1 est assez facile (V=12,1 et SV=16,6) malgré sa magnitude de surface plus faible. En outre, NGC 7094 me paraît assez difficile mais sans plus (V=13,7 et SV=14,70), ce qui suggère qu'une magnitude globale élevée (14) et une magnitude de surface élevée (15) n'empêcheront pas la nébuleuse d'être détectable. La nébuleuse Abell 2 (V=14,5 et SV=13,4) a déjà été observée dans des télescopes de moins de 500 mm (voir l'Internet Amateur Astronomers Catalogue), donc même ce type d'objet doit figurer dans cette liste.

C'est pourquoi j'ai décidé des critères suivants : Il est probable qu'un certain nombre de nébuleuses à la fois faibles et de faible brillance de surface soient inaccessibles à un télescope de 500 mm, malgré leur présence dans cette liste. Mais je préfère procéder ainsi plutôt qu'être trop restrictif. De plus, l'utilisation d'un filtre interférentiel fait des miracles, alors sait-on jamais...

[1] D. Snyder donnait la SV de la nébuleuse avec ses extensions, ici je donne la
SV de la portion brillante (celle qui fait 27x24").
[2] La magnitude de surface est donnée à 16.5, ce qui n'est pas compatible avec sa
magnitude globale et son diamètre. J'ai vérifié sur une image du P.O.S.S. : c'est
une nébuleuse brillante, donc j'ai supprimé la donnée.
