Southern objects from Pic du Midi Observatory

Aspect of the southern horizon from Pic du Midi Observatory

Canon EOS 5D equiped with a Canon 24-70 mm 1:2.8 L lens (used here at the focal length of 70 mm f/2.8). Stack of 6 x 2 minutes exposures at ISO800 with the "add_max" algorithm of Iris software. These night (July 29, 2006), the horizon is illuminated by spain cities light reflection on hight altitude clouds.

Same night, same horizon and same lens, but with a focal length of 24 mm @ f/2.8.Two meteors are visibles in these ten minutes exposure.
