CMC15 Catalogue

C2A can read the catalogue Carlsberg Meridian Catalogue CMC15 (http://svo2.cab.inta-csic.es/vocats/cmc15/index.php). It is an an astrometric and photometric catalogue of more than 122.7
million stars in the red magnitude range 9 to 17. The latest release of the catalogue covers a declination range between -40° and +50°. Oservations have been made between March 1999 and March 2011.

It is not necessary to compile the CMC15 catalogue. C2A directly reads the native format.

You select this catalogue as the current catalogue through the Stars tab of the Options dialogue box, or by SHIFT-right-clicking on the map. You can choose to display either of the magnitude bands Sloan r', 2MASS J, 2MASS H or 2MASS Ks by clicking the Advanced options... button on the  Stars tab of the Options dialogue box.

The information associated with each star in the catalogue is as follows (for the full textual version of the catalogue):

  • the identifier,,
  • right ascension,
  • declination,
  • number of astrometric and photometric observations,
  • the total number of observations,
  • magnitude in the Sloan r' band,
  • magnitude in the 2MASS J, H and Ks bands,
  • the astrometric mean epoch,
  • standard deviations in right ascension, declination and magnitude.
