Not too long ago

I got a new piece of equipment or what i prefer calling it, my babies. They are Oberwerk 15x70 binoculars, beautiful piece of equipment and works like a charm. Few days later i upgrade using a new tripod from Orion, Paragon-Plus and it is just wonderful to use. I strongly recommend it to anyone using binoculars for astronomy.

Next move you ask?  well i would like 20x80 binoculars but i gotta wait a little.  I don't want to rush anything but i will be keeping my eyes open .... we never know.....

Clear sky!

Hunting Vesta

February 24 & 25 i've been hunting Vesta with success may i add.  Vesta is in Gemini this year and very easy to spot with a visual magnitude 6,5.  Using my Oberwerks 15x70 i was able to follow Vesta in her journey heading, (what seemed to me *North*)

Using my StarryNight software i was able to prepare a few more of these celestial object to hunt, here comes Juno, right now Juno is in Orion the Hunter at a visual magnitude of 8,26 so should be a very interesting target for my 15x70 Oberwerks.

Keep you folks updated! Clear sky!

It's been a while

yeah it's been a while since my last comments but what can i do, the sky doesn't clear up at all, we've been having terrible cold weather for a few days now and looks like it will be warming up except snow is following the warmer temps. Got to hate clouds when your an astronomer... Clouds and street light or any light that interferes with the star lights!

Anyway, have to wait before returning to the hunt for asteroids, hope it will clear up soon!

Clear sky!

Oh Boy.....

What's up with the weather! For the past few weeks i must of have one day of clear sky and was too busy to take part of it. There's no update for me to add here except that i got a new pair of Nikon 8x40 action Extreme, there superb and perfect for birding. I'm thinking of adding my birding report on this website, just might be a good idea to do since astronomy is soft these days......

Better make updates

Sorry for the lack of updates, been quite busy these days with family matters. Now that being said i like to announce the arrival to a new member to my binocular family, Celestron Skymaster 20x80 deep sky buddy.  (See picture of my binoculars) I made lots of testing and must admit that for the money ( which is still quite an investment) you get great views. The contrast is good and in good sky condition your able to go pretty deep in space for galaxies views, globular clusters and amazing open clusters views.  I just which i could have access to much better sky's. Right now the best i can have are mag 4 to 4.5......

On another matter, i sold all of my smaller scopes, kept all my eyepieces, filters, Barlow and that for a very specific reason, i will be getting a 10" dobsonian later this summer. My bins will be the fast setup type of observing tools while my 10" will aim toward deeper observations and finer detail. I haven't decided on which brand yet so i am currently in learning and searching program. Let you all guys know how i progress....

Thanks for reading.....Clear skys!
