13-14 October 2009

Here are two pictures of the comet C/2008 P1 (Garradd). According to MPC the comet magnitude was 15.4. The comet was in Pegasus at a declination around +30 degrees which makes it an easy target despite its weak brightness.

Comet C/2008 P1 (Garradd), 13 oct 2009
Set of 41 exposures of 20 sec, offset, dark and flat corrected, translated to compensate the comet movement, and then combined by sigma clipping (not the best method as it tends to remove the stars, but it removes artefacts).

Approx position = 23h26m51s / +30°46'20"

Comet C/2008 P1 (Garradd), 14 oct 2009
Set of 70 exposures of 20 sec each, processed in the same way.

Approx position = 23h25m49s / +30°48'30"
