Click for hires

VdB 99 is a very faint blue reflection nebula, illuminated by Pi Scorpi. VdB 99 is also known as Sharpless 1 (Sh2-1) and include LBN1095. The upper part is named GN 15.50.6 and include many other nebulas such as LBN 1093, LBN 1092, Ced 125a+b+c+d.
This field is very interesting due to the colour contrasts between the pure blue at right, the greenish blue above and the faint red around Pi Sco.
