NGC5128, Centaurus A Galaxy

Maybe this is the most famous galaxy of the Southern Hemisphere, apart the Magellanic Clouds. The elliptical core is surrounded by a huge dark band. The short exposure is the cause for the noise, that here was reduced as much as possible, but is still visible in part.

Zoom at 66% resolution.
