Pertseida izar uxoak 109P Swift-Tuttle kometaren ibilbideari lotuta daude; 134.6 urteko periodoa duen kometa 1992an hurbildu zen. Pertseidak gehien abuztu erdialdean ikusten dira eta oso azkarrak dira, 59km/s-ko abiaduran sartzen dira atmosferan bertan desintegratzeko.

The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift–Tuttle, the comet with a period of 134.6 years approached to Earth in 1992. The Perseids are most visible in mid-August and are very fast, entering tonatmosphere at a speed of 59km/s to disintegrate.
