M92 was discovered by J.E. Bode in 1777. Messier compiled the object in his catalog in 1781. M92 is smaller and fainter than M13. Its diameter is 80 light years and it glows with an intensity equivalent to 150,000 times that of the sun or 60% that of M13. Its distance is 25,000 light years.
