Since I started my university education, in 1986 (Anglogermanic Philology, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), I discovered that between linguistics and I there was a particular 'something'.

Blame it on professor Joan A. Argenter, who opened my eyes wide with his classes and afterclass discussions. Since then, linguistics has always been my frustrated vocation.

I say frustrated because I left the university two years later for personal reasons without finishing my studies. I always wanted to go on with my studies and my favorite subject, and al last, in 2003 I went back to the university (almost 15 years later!)

I reorganized my coursed subjects in order to gain access to the grade in Linguistics, which took me a year. Now, I am currently enrolled (at last!) on the linguistics studies offered by the linguistics department of the Universitat de Barcelona.

I'm currently enrolled to obtain a MA/Phd in Cognitive Science and linguistics, in computational linguistics. I have won an award FIE from the local government Generalitat(AGAUR) to R&D in my current job, and this way participate in the GRIAL university research group.

As of today, I still work on the computer industry, in which I have made a living since I was 18. I hope someday I may join my experience with computers with my passion for language. If you know of any interesting project that might match my competences (you can check my CV here), drop me a line at jordi_sese@yahoo.com.
