Abell 1367 Galaxy Cluster in Leo

(RA 11h 44.0m , Dec. +19°57', 13-16 mag., 60 arcmin.)


This galaxy cluster is located 55' SW of 93 Leonis (see finder chart below).

The above image was taken on June 2, 2002 from Harrowsmith , Ontario using Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera on Celestron Ultima 8 f3.0 telescope, autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. This mosaic is composed of twelve "tiles" (each assembled from 4 or 5 x 60 sec. white exposures) processed with AIP4WIN and combined using Corel PhotoPaint 8.

North is to the right. The above image is reduced to 50% of the original.
