NGC1049 Globular Cluster and Dwarf Fornax System Galaxy
(NGC1049 = RA 2h 39.7m , Dec. -34°29', 11 mag., 0.6 arcmin.)
NGC1049 globular is detectable in a telescope about 2°45' SW of b Fornacis (see finder chart below). It is the brightest object inside the extremely faint and large Fornax System. That dwarf member of the Local Group requires large aperture rich-field telescope!
