NGC1579 Nebula in Perseus

This interesting emission nebula can be found with a telescope about 6°20' E of x Persei (see finder chart below).
The above image was taken on December 18, 1998 from Sooke, BC. Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. White integrations (9 x 4 min.) as well as cyan, magenta and yellow-filtered exposures (4 x 4 min. each) were combined with AIP4WIN. Resulting color image which was further adjusted in Lab color space using Corel PhotoPaint 8.
North is to the right.
