NGC4559 in Coma Berenices

(RA 12h 36.0m , Dec. +27° 58', 10.0 mag., 12 x 5 arcmin.)


This large spiral galaxy is located just 2° E of g Comae (see finder chart below). Look for NGC4565 South of it.

The above image was taken on March 29, 1998 from Sooke, BC. Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. It is composed of nine white images (-IR filter only, each exposed for 240 sec.) processed with AIP4WIN software.

North is to the right.
