NGC7640 in Andromeda

(RA 23h 22.1m , Dec. +42°51', 11.3 mag., 11 x 2.3 arcmin.)


This spiral galaxy is located in Western part of Andromeda close to Blue Snowball planetary nebula (NGC7662) (see finder chart below).

Image was taken on Sept. 26, 1998 from Sooke, BC using Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope, autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. It is composed of W (10 x 4 min.) and CMY (6 x 4 min. each) integrations combined in AIP4WIN and further adjusted in Lab color space using Corel PhotoPaint 8.

North is to the right.
