PK64+5.1 Planetary Nebula (Campbell's Hydrogen Star) in Cygnus

(RA 19h 34.8m , Dec. +30°31', 9.6 mag., 8 arcsec.)


This small but bright planetary can be spotted 2°45' NNE of b Cygni (see finder chart below).

The above false-color composite was obtained on August 21, 2002 from Harrowsmith, Ontario with Cookbook 245 CCD camera on a Celestron Ultima 8 f10 SCT. Ninteen white images (15 sec. each) were acquired as well as sixteen Ha-filtered images (30 sec. each through photographic filter from Lumicon). Those images were processed with AIP4WIN and tricolor image was assembled using white image for blue and red channels, while Ha was utilized for red channel.
