OBSVAR is a very simple program, or if you like it modern, a tool which does only one thing: it goes through the bulletin file of AAVSO or AFOEV and extracts lines which satisfy different criteria.
The program compute alone the day, month and year with the system date.

Résolution mini: 1024 x 768 pixels
You can choose a year of the campaign (ex : 2009 for the first year, 2010 for the second year.
You can choose a French or English version.
Quit Obsvar, and run it again and the appropriate language will take effect.
Constellation (88 abrevations constellation)
The first is "1" and the last "14", "14" is february of the year+1 (ex "14" is february 2002 of the bulletin 64 of the year 2001)
Day = Today (System date) and choice of many days
You can choose from two bulletins
and many years
If the bulletin is missing, for example the message appear : "The file of AAVSO 2002 is missing" otherwise the program will run normally (the file is present to the disk).

Two new criteria run with the AFOEV file

D) After the different selections have been chosen :
The button "Search" : will compute the criteria and display the results to the screen
The button "Print " : will compute the criteria, display to the screen and print the results in the printer.
If you click one star, the soft display the "need observations"

Run the file setup.exe

Two filenames to choice : variables.lst or day date-variables.lst.
The day date is in this format AAAAMMJJ, AAAA = Year, MM = Month, JJ = Day
