Blood red Moon

A total lunar eclipse is one of the nicest events that an amateur can shot during a years. One of the trickiest parts is reproducing on film the big surface brightness variation the Moon eclipsed has. To overcame this I took two exposure of 4 and 16 seconds and than I blended them in Photoshop through a gradation mask. The star visible in the upper left side of the picture is SAO97579 (H1385.1065) in Cancer, a 7.34 magnitude blue star. Picture taken on Jan 21, 2001 at about 05.30 am LT
