Wild Duck Cluster M11

Field centered on R.A. 18h 50' & Dec. -06° 15'

 

Located in Scutum, M11 is one of the best open cluster to be seen through a telescope. It is very bright and compact yet large enough for small instrumen. It is surrounded by the rich star field of scutum, in the northern Milky way. Click on the image above to see an enlargement of the cluster
