M31 The Great Andromeda Galaxy

Field centered on R.A. 00h 42' & Dec. +41° 20'

 

One of the easiest target for northern observer is the Great Andromeda Galaxy. The picture above is centered on the complex M31, M32 and NGC205. M31 color changes from the center (older star - yellowish) to the arms (younger star - bluish). This mosaic on 35mm film took about 320 minutes of global exposures.
