Practically this is THE symbol of the southern sky, so popular that many countries decided to put it in their national flag... The dark nebula at the left is the Coal sack. This shot is the result of a mosaic of two pictures taken with a 180mm telephoto lens plus the contribute of a single 10 minutes shots through a 100mm telephoto lens at f/2.8 fitted with a diffuser filter to enhance the stars proper color |
