I got the idea to process these images looking at two main sites, one made by Davide de Martin (http://www.skyfactory.org/) that has produced so far some of the best images I have ever seen of the night sky just using public data available through the Internet and the other made by Steve Cannistra (http://www.starrywonders.com/) describing the "bicolor" technique needed to produce these images. I borrowed from Davide also the idea to use the Zoomify freeware viewer that is by far the best applet to render large images without slowing too much the site visibility. All original data are credited to the DSS, including the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey POSS I and POSS II mainly used to produce these pictures. Another good examples of images got with a similar technique are visible in the home page of R.A.Bennion.
