If you're looking for a superior first telescope with a traditional German equatorial mount or want to move up to a larger aperture telescope, consider the G-8 telescope (Model #11023) which is mounted on the CG-5 EQ mount, the newest generation of Celestron's German mounts. Both axes of the equatorial mount have precision worm gears for extremely smooth motion.

This heavy duty mount delivers jitter-free images easily and the adjustable height, very rigid tripod has excellent damping characteristics and a convenient accessory tray.

Included are setting circles on both axes, slow-motion controls and latitude scale. An adjustable counterweight makes it easy to point, balance and use.

The G-8 optical system comes with Starbright^® coatings and its large aperture offers light gathering power 843 times that of the human eye.
