My
occultations web page
Sometime, an asteroid, a comet, a planet or a satellite passes in front of a star. The measurement of the start and the end of the occultation, can provide very high accuracy measurement. Then, we can measure the diameters of the asteroids, their shapes and orbits. We can also detect rings, or satelites of the asteroid. | Drawing from Iota |

Path through the world and path
through Europe (with observers stations) from occultwatcher
software
I haven't seen this occultation because my hardware is to small, so I
told a friend of mine, from Luberon
Sud Astro astronomy club, to observe it. It was his first
occultation, this was for a TNO and it was positive!
A positive
report
was sent to planoccult mailing list. Unfortunatly, there was clouds
almost everywhere in Europe. 11 stations saw positive occultation. Size
and shape will follow soon...
