OHP 2011 - Spectroscopy Workshop
night 1 (from 31-07 to 01-08)
The first night was a bit painful, we had to install the full setup : spectrometer + guiding camera on the telescope.
We lost several hours to get the right adaptors, to find a guiding camera, to download and install the software... but also to learn how to
make the various focusing adjustments... Actually, this was our first contact with a spectrometer !
Finally we could take 2 spectra at the end of the night, with the old LHIRES kindly provided by Shelyak. Due to some internal alignment issue,
these two spectra are not very good so I will not present them.
The day after, the spectrometer was completely re-aligned. Finally everything was set up properly and we were fully ready for night 2 !
