Draco, the Dragon, is an ancient constellation associated with numerous myths. It may represent the dragon killed by Hercules on his quest for golden apples or another one trown to the skies by Minerva during the war between Titans and gods. Other story links it to the dragon which Argonauts had to evade to get the Golden Fleece.

Draco contains many fine galaxies, however Cat's Eye planetary nebula (NGC6543) constitues its telescopic crown jewel.
